68-Deep Waters

Proverbs 18:4 (AMP)
The words of a [discreet and wise] man’s mouth are like deep waters [plenteous and difficult to fathom], and the fountain of skillful and godly Wisdom is like a gushing stream [sparkling, fresh, pure, and life-giving].

I was just conversing with a dear friend over Facebook when this thought hit me.

Did you know that each time you draw water from a well, fresh water flows in to replace what you’ve taken. This same truth holds for the giving of wisdom and counsel. When we draw from that wellspring that Jesus gave us upon our conversion to faith in Him, what we draw is immediately refreshed with even fresher wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

In this way, this well never runs dry. The more we give out, the more we receive ourselves!

So do not be silent but look for opportunities to share this unlimited resource from God. The more you share with others, the greater your own portion will be. Jesus says that where two or three are gathered together in His name, He is there. He never comes empty handed but always bears more gifts to those who speak of Him and even think on His name.

This is but another reason that we should not forsake the gathering together in fellowship with each other and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. If all we do is go to church to listen to one person speak and do not interact with each other in holy conversation, sharing and ministering to each other to encourage each other in the faith we all share, then what is our purpose in the first place. In coming together to encourage each other in our most holy faith, we are giving honor and glory to the One who sacrificed Himself for our freedom.

Let us celebrate this freedom He bought for us by taking from our storehouse and sharing with our brethren. Let us let this wonderful river of God’s grace be distributed and in so doing, we are replenished and strengthened ourselves with a never ending supply!
